Some people don’t like the taste of kiwi’s because they are too tart, if that is the case try a golden kiwi as the taste is much sweeter and the skin is smooth making it more edible, that said i eat the skin of all kiwi’s. The best golden kiwi’s come from New Zealand and are grown by a company called Zerspi, in December to February they mostly come from Italy. Golden Kiwi is a modern cultivar of kiwifruit that was developed intentionally a little less than 15 years ago, although they are a little more expensive believe me once you have them you will really appreciate the great taste this fruit has to offer :-)
If you look at a golden kiwi and a green kiwi together up close you will immediately see that there are significant differences on the outer appearance of each. The green kiwi is known for its fuzzy skin and oval shape. Golden kiwis have a smooth skin, with few hairs, bronzed skin, a pointed cap at one end and distinctive golden-yellow flesh with less tart and more tropical flavour than green-kiwi fruit.
The fruit is an excellent source of antioxidant vitamin C; providing about 154% of the DRI (daily-recommended intake). Consumption of foods rich in vitamin-C helps the body develop resistance against infectious agents. A typical 100g portion provides 14.66g carbohydrate, 0.5g fat, 1.9g fibre, 1.1g protein and 61 calories.
